Congratulations!

We hope you are as excited as we are to start this journey together. While there is a lot of information to process, we also have a warm community of staff, families, and students who are always ready to answer your questions!

Now that you’re admitted, you’re probably thinking, “I’m so excited! What do we do now?” The next steps are some of the most important parts of the admission process:

Next Steps

To secure your place in Bay’s Class of 2028. Each parent/guardian should check their inbox for an email inviting them to “Connect to The Bay School of San Francisco” from [email protected] (check your spam/junk folder if it isn’t in your inbox). The email contains a link unique to that email address to establish a MyBay (parent portal) account. Please note that each legal parent/guardian is required to sign the agreement and will receive an individualized link. The link sent to your email address is associated with your student. Download instructions for creating your MyBay account.

Once logged into MyBay, the enrollment agreement is accessible from the home screen. Sign the enrollment agreement and submit the deposit in MyBay for the 2024-2025 school year to officially enroll.

Deadlines for Enrollment Agreements and Deposits

  • Thursday, March 21, before noon for enrollment agreements with flexible tuition grants
  • Friday, March 22, before noon for all other enrollment agreements

  • Monday, March 25: 2 - 4:30 p.m.

We know that being less familiar with a school environment may mean a new student can spend a lot of energy figuring it out. To help students (and their families) who aren’t as familiar with independent schools or are first-generation students, Jump Start is a free four-day summer session (August 5-8) that familiarizes students with Bay’s school culture and allows them to meet a few classmates before classes begin. See this letter for more information.

If you believe your child would be a good candidate for our summer Jump Start program, please feel free to email or call the Program Director, Alex Lazo (habla español) at 415-561-5800 or complete the interest form by Monday, April 22.

Join the Bay community at 5:30 p.m. for an evening of presentations by our seniors. You’ll see a wide variety of projects and learn about their process from start to finish.

We invite you and your family to join us to celebrate and meet new classmates, advisors, and more! Simultaneous student and parent programs will occur from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Fall team activities and tryouts begin the week of August 12, with the exception of the sailing program. Please plan accordingly, as these events occur three weeks before the beginning of the school year. Athletes are expected to attend all practices and games, typically five days a week. Any sport-related questions should be directed to our Athletics Department at [email protected]

A physician must medically clear students to participate on any team at Bay. Physicals are valid for one year from the examination date and are due August 1. Over the summer, you will be notified of the required forms and how to complete them.

This event will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and all transfer students will attend their own grade-level orientation. These are:

10th grade: Wednesday, August 21, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

11th grade: Monday, August 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

12th grade: Monday–Tuesday, August 19–20, overnight at Camp Jones Gulch

Join us from 6-7 p.m. to meet the 9th-grade Dean, Lucci Lautze, and learn what’s in store for your student’s first year at Bay. We will discuss ways to get involved, developmental milestones, and how best to support your child as they transition to high school.

Our two-day 9th-grade orientation will occur on Tuesday, August 20 (9 a.m.-2 p.m.), and Wednesday, August 21 (9 a.m.-12 p.m.) at The Bay School. A light breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. All 9th graders are expected to attend. The purpose of orientation is for students to meet their classmates, advisors, and staffulty members, learn about the nuts and bolts of Bay, and, of course, have fun!

Students are placed in grade-level advisory cohorts (8 to 9 students) with a Bay staffulty advisor throughout their time at Bay. On the afternoon of August 22 or 23, families (parents/guardians and their children) will meet individually with their student’s advisor. The goals are for the advisor to understand how best to support their new advisee and answer questions before the first day of school. Stay tuned for a link at the beginning of August to sign up for a 30-minute appointment with your student’s advisor.
