Now in her sophomore year at Ohio Wesleyan University, Ella Lazare '23 is majoring in Zoology and minoring in Communications. She recently participated in OWU Connection, traveling to Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana to learn about several of her interests in African contexts: women's health and animal conservation. In her senior year at Bay, Ella performed a specialized dissection for her Honors Biology capstone. Science teacher Hayden Shea supported her in sourcing the necessary materials, and this experience got Ella even more fired up to pursue animal reproductive science in college—she noted it specifically as our Class of 2023 graduation speaker.
Just as she was at Bay, Ella is active on the OWU campus, as an intern in the Chief Diversity Office among many other endeavors.
