The Bay School of San Francisco, an independent, coeducational college preparatory high school located in the Presidio of San Francisco

At Bay the possibilities are infinite. We are a learning community committed to new ideas and shared passions, where each individual steps up to take an active role.

Welcome to our Bay Admission Webpage!

The Bay School is at an exciting place in its history. Our founding Class of 2008 is now a group of capable, experienced, and savvy college freshmen, navigating the academic waters at colleges and universities all over the country, from Wellesley, MIT, and Tufts on the east coast to Stanford and Reed on the west, to Carleton College right in the middle (Minnesota!). It was hugely gratifying to welcome them back to Bay for their first alumni reunion in January and to hear their accounts of growth, exploration, and nostalgic appreciation for their high school experience here at Bay.

We look forward to welcoming our new head of school, Timothy Ward Johnson, who will join us at the start of the 2009-2010 school year. As the previous head at Marin Country Day School for more than a decade, Tim comes to Bay well-known and well-respected by many in the educational community and beyond. At the same time, we will never forget the inspiring leadership of our founding Head, Fr. Malcolm Manson, who has led us with vision and courage to become the school we are proud to be today. We wish him the very best in retirement with his wife Sandy.

Our winter musical, Little Shop of Horrors, opens on March 12th for a four-day run and we welcome everyone to come join us and sing along! Our spring athletic season is now underway and with it comes the launch of our inaugural competitive boys’ tennis program.

In the Admission Office we are busy reading applications for incoming freshmen and transfer students, and we look forward to mailing our decision letters in March to our prospective students and their families. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the Bay School admission process please contact us at: admission@bayschoolsf.org.

We appreciate your interest in the Bay School.
