Food is a Community Experience

At Bay, students come together throughout the day in the dining hall, and may often be found gathered around Bay’s toast bar and tea-making station. Students enjoy organic, healthy lunches with vegan and vegetarian options as well as daily soup and salad options provided through Acre Gourmet. Toast, tea, and fresh fruit are available all day for snacking. The Bay School is dedicated to composting and recycling as part of its food program.


Provided by Acre Gourmet, Bay's lunches are:

  • Cooked on-site from scratch
  • Local, seasonal, and continually changing
  • Ecologically conscious, predominantly organic and feature grass-fed or free range
  • Hormone- and antibiotic-free meat
  • Low in salt and sugar and free of transfats
  • Accompanied every day by a salad bar
  • Reflective of a range of ethnic backgrounds
  • Accommodating of special dietary needs
  • Include bagels, fresh breads and jams, fresh fruit, and hot tea
