Ching Chih was born in Taiwan, where she obtained a certificate Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in 2009 aimed at teaching the language to English speakers both in Taiwan and abroad. After teaching junior-high-school students in Taiwan for one year, Ching Chih moved to the U.S. and started teaching in non-profit Chinese schools in the Bay Area to both heritage speakers and CFL (Chinese as a Foreign Language) students. Ching received a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching and pursued an M.A. in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Oregon State University. Since Ching Chih returned to the Bay Area, she has continued to teach in Chinese schools, as well as part-time at Urban and The Bay School of San Francisco.
