The son of two San Francisco teachers, Dennis grew up in San Francisco, where he attended Lowell High School. After earning his B.A. and M.A., with a brief stint in law school, Dennis returned to his alma mater to teach Mandarin for three years. He then joined the faculty at The Urban School of San Francisco where he taught and worked for two years to develop Urban's Mandarin Chinese program. Dennis then traveled to Hong Kong to work in the field of entertainment production, while at the same time teaching Mandarin to Hong Kong students. In addition to teaching Mandarin at the high school level, Dennis has also taught Mandarin at SFSU, City College, and adult language schools. His other interests include singing and acting. He has performed in China, Taipei, Hong Kong and the Bay Area.
