Yancey has taught mathematics, physics and chemistry and has coached soccer at independent schools in New York, NY and San Francisco, CA. He has also taught various age groups ranging from the middle school through college. Yancey is happy to teach at The Bay School of San Francisco because of its innovative approach to education, the character of its students and its beautiful location. Yancey’s experience in scientific and financial research informs his applied approach to teaching mathematics at Bay and he endeavors to reveal both the applicability and elegance of the subject to his students. Yancey is an avid soccer player and fitness enthusiast and enjoys listening to a wide variety of musical genres including 90’s hip-hop, rock with great lead guitar (Santana, Clapton, Pearl Jam, etc.), electronic music, Latin music, Brazilian music and other genres from around the globe. He is a fluent Spanish speaker and can hold a conversation in Portuguese. He also enjoys cooking and eating.
