Sarah Crockett - Mathematics
A.B., Mathematics, Smith College
Sarah has been teaching mathematics since she graduated from college and joined the Peace Corps, where she taught secondary school mathematics in northern Ghana. Sarah has also taught high school at Sidwell Friends and Maret in Washington, DC, and at Menlo in Atherton, CA. Sarah has tutored students of all ages in mathematics, especially children with learning differences and adults going back to school after an extended absence. After Sarah's second son was born she took a break from full-time teaching to be with her children, but continued to work in high schools as a long-term sub at both Urban and Bay, while also subbing at Pacific Primary Preschool, where her children had gone. Sarah actually started working at Bay in 2009 as a math substitute. Sarah believes in the inherent ability we have as learners. She seeks to unlock the world of mathematics for all students and to encourage them to always strive to learn more.
