Why did you choose to attend The Bay School?
I choose to attend The Bay School because when I came to visit Bay, I immediately felt a part of the community. The inclusive, respectful, and kind students and the patient, helpful teachers convinced me that Bay was the right school for me to thrive.
What has been your favorite class taken at Bay?
My favorite class at Bay so far has been Humanities. In Humanities this year we read the book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. I love to read and write, and in Humanities there are many opportunities to do so.
What is your favorite part of the Bay community?
My favorite part of the Bay community is the collaboration and communication that is present in an average class day.
What has been your most memorable experience at Bay?
My most memorable experience at Bay is meeting new people and making friends. From small classes to sports teams, you talk to classmates you might not get a chance to otherwise, making friendships in all grades.
You now have two years of Bay under your belt, what is the one thing you have learned most about yourself? How has Bay helped you discover that?
Something I have learned at Bay is that I learn best with visuals and audio. Bay has helped me realize this by the variety of teaching styles we have in class. From discussion style socratics to collaborative work, Bay helps their students find what learning style works best for them.
What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering Bay?
For students considering Bay, I would tell them to listen to their gut feeling, and make a pros and cons list to see if Bay is the right fit for them. I would also tell them to think back to their student visits, and if they enjoyed the classes and talking to the students and teachers.
