Why did you choose to attend The Bay School?
I choose The Bay School because of the school's foundation and teaching strategies. The teachers have encouraged me to go to tutorial, which gave me ownership of my learning. Because I daily meet with my teachers, it helps with my success in school.
What has been your favorite class taken at Bay?
My favorite class has been Conceptual Physics. I love the material and the daily labs. It challenges us, and helps to grow our creativity through the labs because we have to figure out the guided questions with assistance. My knowledge through conceptual physics has greatly improved and makes class very fun.
What is your favorite part of the Bay community?
My favorite part of the Bay community is the teachers. They are some of the nicest people I have met, and they greatly contribute to my learning. They have always supported me when I go for help during tutorial. In class, several times I don't understand the material, and the teacher alters their teaching to help me understand it.
What has been your most memorable experience at Bay?
My most memorable part of Bay was the first day of soccer tryouts. I was encouraged by upperclassmen, and it caused me to branch outside of my comfort zone to make friends.
You have successfully completed your first year as a Bay student. Looking back at your year, what would you tell yourself on the first day of school?
Looking back on the year, I would tell myself to go to tutorial more regularly. The teachers are there to help support you to maximize your learning.
What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering Bay?
Do your research on the schools you are applying for and visit multiple open houses.
