Why did you choose to attend The Bay School?
I chose to attend The Bay School because I loved the community! The second I stepped foot into Bay I already felt as though I belonged and had found my place. When I visited, everyone was super kind and they really made me feel included like was already a part of the school! Since the first moment I got here, I honestly have felt how kind, genuine, open, and supportive Bay is. We are truly encouraged to be ourselves! To me, our community at Bay is more than a group of students and staffulty, but one large family!
What has been your favorite class taken at Bay?
I have enjoyed all of my classes at Bay, but my favorite class has been Humanities. We do a wide variety of lesson types, such as simulations, readings, papers, group work, individual work, and presentations. The range of actives really helps us stay engaged, especially since the topics we study such as politics, worldview, current events, and culture play such a large role in the lives that we live.
What is your favorite part of the Bay community?
My favorite part of the Bay community is how it truly feels like a family. We are all so supportive and encouraging of each other, and the aspects that make each of us unique. This allows Bay to be an amazing mixing pot of experiences and world views. Bay truly does create a safe space which allows for everyone to feel as though they belong, and it gives the opportunity for people to grow and learn as both students and people.
What has been your most memorable experience at Bay?
My most memorable experience at Bay was probably spirit week because it was really fun being able to wear pajamas to school, to see everyone dress up as different decades, to have the entire school wearing their Olympic team colors, and to wear twin outfits with my best friend!!!
Looking back on your first year at Bay, what would you tell yourself on your first day of school?
If I was able to go back in time and give myself advice on the first day of school, it would be to be less stressed and to not worry because everything works out. I would also remind myself to be more confident because I have no reason not to be!
What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering Bay?
Follow your instinct; I followed mine and now I couldn't be happier!
