The A-Team is Bay’s student admission ambassadors leadership group. When you visit Bay we will be some of the first people you meet. We’re proud of our school and can’t wait to share  what we love about Bay with you and your family. There are a number of ways to familiarize yourself with our school. Please make event reservations through your Ravenna account.

Reservations are required for all events and are limited to 8th-grade and transfer families seeking entry for Fall 2020.

Open House

Bay offers three open house events each fall. An open house is an opportunity to meet current students, parents/guardians, and Bay faculty. You will be introduced to Bay’s mission and philosophy and get an overview of the school’s academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs. This is the ideal event for prospective students and parents/guardians to get to know Bay in person.

Student Visit

Prospective students are invited to visit Bay and directly experience daily life in the classroom and community. We encourage visiting students to use their time at Bay to observe the classroom environment, student-teacher relationships, and school culture.

When you visit, please enter through the administrative entrance at the end of the block. There will be signs pointing you in the right direction. There, you will be greeted by a member of the A-Team. Visits include Morning Meeting, a student panel, one class, and a tour.

We do our best to accommodate requests for specific classes or hosts, but please be aware that certain circumstances may prevent us from doing so. If you prefer to experience a particular aspect of Bay, please let us know. Student visits require a reservation.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Evenings

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Evenings focus on how our diverse population of students and families experience Bay, as well as our institutional practices to promote equity and inclusion. Attending a DEI Evening is an opportunity for prospective students and parents/guardians to ask challenging questions and engage in meaningful and candid discussion with current members of the Bay community.

Discussion at previous events addressed the following broad topics:

  • Ability
  • Family Educational Background
  • Family Composition
  • Gender and Gender Identity
  • Learning Styles
  • Political Affiliations
  • Race and Ethnicity
  • Religion
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Socio-Economic Status/Class

Reservations for these optional events should be made through your Ravenna account.

All applicants will interview with someone from our admission staff, faculty, student body, or alumni. These interviews give us the opportunity to get to know applicants personally. Moreover, interviews give applicants the chance to ask questions and get an insider’s perspective on what it is like to be a part of Bay.

Interviews are a required step in the application process and should be scheduled through your Ravenna account after completing the parent/guardian portion of the application. We encourage you to schedule your interview by December 1.

Prospective Parent & Guardian Receptions

Receptions are generously hosted by current parents/guardians in their homes. Current parents/guardians, students, teachers, and administrators are available to answer questions and connect with prospective parents/guardians one-on-one through casual conversation. Receptions are the ideal time to get to know Bay on a deeper level.

These events are optional and space is limited, thus reservations are limited to one reception per family. These events are only for parents/guardians of prospective students. Invitations will be sent out based on your family’s geographic location via email. Please respond to that email to RSVP for the reception closest to you.
