What is going to happen in the Future ?

The impact of global warming will differ in different countries and climates. Farmers in higher latitudes could have an increase in agricultural production while farmers in subtropical and tropical regions will suffer significant declines. Areas close to sea level will be impacted by rising sea levels. High-mountain regions may have “significant changes in ecosystems and water resources” (Projections or Climate Change).

The IPCC estimates that the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will cause the temperature to rise between 2.4 and 10.5 degrees Fahrenheit over the 21 st century.

Due to global warming scientists expect sea levels to rise by 3.4 to 34.6 inches between 1990 and 2100. This change in sea level will cause many problems such as, “coastal groundwater saltier, endangering wetlands, and inundating valuable land and coastal communities” (Projections of Climate Change).

The precipitation patterns may change causing many problems and would affect currently water-scarce areas and further decrease rainfall.

Due to “increasing heat, worsening air pollution, declining water quality, and the spread of infectious diseases” (Projections of Climate Change) there could be significant impacts on human health.
