Library Resources
The Bay School library is a highlight of the school’s newly renovated historic campus, and provides an exceptional learning environment that is used and enjoyed by all members of the school community. The 3,000 square foot library has a capacity of more than 22,000 volumes and features an online catalog that is able to be accessed both on and off of campus. The catalog is linked to more than 30 databases and electronic reference sources covering an extensive range of research topics.

The mission of the library is to provide information in a variety of media, to teach the tools for using that information effectively and ethically, to promote reading for pleasure, and to provide a space that encourages the flow of intellectual curiosity and discourse.
The spacious, well lighted library design provides comfortable study spaces for groups engaged in project work and tutoring sessions as well as cozy, quiet spaces for individual students to read, do homework, and relax. A separate periodical reading room within the space displays the school’s collection of more than 50 magazines and newspapers. The library collection also includes a parent resource section and foreign language collections including bilingual texts in Spanish and French. Utilizing a self-checkout computer system, students and faculty members have full access to library materials during the entire school day and are able to use on-site computers and scanners to transfer copies of documents directly onto their laptops.
