Parents and guardians play a central role in the Bay School community. In addition to supporting their students and a myriad of school programs through countless volunteer efforts, parents are encouraged to meet and get to know each other through a range of educational programs and social activities organized and hosted by the Bay School Parent Association. All Bay School parents/guardians automatically become members of the Parent Association upon enrollment of their student.

Bay School Parent Association Mission Statement
The mission of the Bay School Parent Association (PA) is to foster a close sense of community amongst our parents and families, to provide educational opportunities for parents/guardians, to foster connections between the school and the broader community through service opportunities, and to acknowledge and support our wonderful Bay School faculty and staff.

To assist parents in developing a meaningful partnership with the school, the PA offers many opportunities for them to be involved in a wide range of volunteer activities. We organize educational gatherings throughout the year through presentations coordinated with our faculty and through our liaisons to the Parents' Coalition of Bay Area High Schools and the Parent Education Network. We have recently launched a PA community service group that provides an avenue for outreach between the Bay School parent community and the surrounding Presidio, as well as San Francisco and the broader Bay Area community.

We recognize that parents play an important supporting role in the growth of their student, academically, emotionally and spiritually throughout adolescence. Research has shown that by the time our children reach high school age our behavior and relationships with them are the most important forms of influence on them. Students are most successful when parents form a strong partnership with their school and with other parents. By becoming involved in our Bay School community, even in a small way, your student will see that you are an active partner in her/his well-being and success.

The Parent Association functions to build community among Bay School families and to support the faculty and staff who provide a great education to our students. Soon you will join your child on the high school roller coaster. We hope to help make that ride a bit less bumpy and a lot more fun!
